TORONTO, Nov. 17, 2015 /CNW/ - Today, The Toy Movement will recognize its first anniversary by delivering toys to children in Mexico. The global initiative, led by Spin Master Corp., provides toys to disadvantaged and displaced children around the world with the hope of bringing inspiration, imagination and joy to children through play.

The Toy Movement was founded in December 2014 by Co-Chief Executive Officer, Ronnen Harary and Ben Gadbois, President and COO, of Spin Master Corp. To date, the organization has delivered more than 30,000 toys globally.

"There is something intangible and magical when a child discovers a toy," said Ronnen Harary. "Despite the difficult circumstances these children find themselves in, we want to find a small way to give them the opportunity to play, learn and grow – something every child deserves."

In Mexico, The Toy Movement is supported on the ground by TECMA Group. Its employees have volunteered their time to facilitate the wrapping and delivery of 3,500 toys to students, aged 6-12, at seven schools in Juarez, Mexico. Delivery to the first three schools begins today and will be followed deliveries to four more schools in mid-December.

"It is always encouraging to see great companies and people come together to help children living in extreme poverty or conflict areas. Every little thing that we can do to bring them happiness matters," said Ben Gadbois. "We are thankful to everyone who has given their time and resources to our first ever Mexican mission."

Alan Russell, CEO and Chairman of TECMA Group added, "We are delighted to partner with The Toy Movement and Spin Master to make a difference in children's lives. Our employees have rallied behind this mission and we hope this will be the first of many we will undertake together."

Nickelodeon is supporting the mission as a media partner and will feature The Toy Movement as part of its upcoming HALO Awards.

The Mexico mission is the first of three upcoming activations for The Toy Movement. For more information on the organization and to view a video of the December 2014 visit to Jordan, please visit TheToyMovement.org.
